161-1?

Game 1
Today was Opening Day for Baseball around the country and most importantly in Detroit. The Tigers have a new-look team this year with some off-season additions and should make a solid run at the pennant and the World Series this year. They opened at Comerica today against the Royals and while they fought pretty hard, they fell to the Royals in extras, 5-4. Miguel Cabrera hit his first official Tiger homer deep to left field and Justin Verlander pitched a very solid game, but it wasn't enough to hold off a pesky Kansas City team, who showcased a play til the last pitch attitude. Can't win 'em all, but it always is nice to win the first one in a long season. We'll try again on Wednesday. Kenny Rogers takes the ball for the Tigers.

We're staying at a different hotel in Vegas now. We'll be on the strip after we moved from the Hilton to the Mirage. Hopefully this will enhance the trip and the visit to Vegas even more. The trip is fast approaching and I'm very excited about leaving this Friday. I'm pretty sure I have everything all squared away and am set to leave for a week. Just 4 Days until my train leaves for Detroit and the beginning of my tour of 9 states in just 7 days.

Check out the Herald tomorrow (Tuesday) if you get a chance. Nothing big, but some of the staff, including myself, made predicitions for the upcoming MLB season. There could be some surprises on who I picked to win the different divisions, but probably not surprise on who I picked to win it all!

I'll probably post once more before I leave Friday, so see you then.
