We are officially now in-season for sports, according to me. Baseball season has started, basketball and hockey playoffs are about to begin and racing and golf season is in full swing. I am a follower of Formula One racing as well and that has been of interest to me as of late. A brand new team -- Brawn (with veteran driver Jenson Button at the helm) -- has won the first two races nearly from start to finish. The picture above is Button driving through the rain-shortened race (just 31 laps) in Malaysia last weekend. He cruised to the victory for his second straight win. It's nice to see him have some success after years stuck with mediocre teams.
The Tigers had a rough go at it in their opener today. They lost 12-5 to the Blue Jays and Verlander gave up eight runs in the loss. It's only one game, but it's not the start the Tigers obviously wanted. Tomorrow is a new day however. Brand new Tiger, Edwin Jackson takes the mound to hopefully flash his repetoire. There is no doubt in my mind that the offense will get things going soon to help out the questionable pitching.
I'll have more of sports-related randomness and other doings later this week or this weekend.
