Today was my first day back as a student at WMU. Ironically, my first class was in the College of Education building. The same building I thought I would probably never set foot in again. When the professor remarked this morning something about being old, I was overcome with the feeling that I probably belonged more in front of these students than with them. I definitely wasn't the oldest in the class (some 280 strong), but it was close.
It's going to be a weird semester, but I'm sure the initial feeling of being old and out of my element will pass soon and I'll move through the semester smoothly - we can all hope. I only have three classes and the fact that I'm taking a break from these in April to road-trip relaxes things even further.
Also, I can now start using the rec center on a regular basis which I'm extremely thrilled about. New Years resolution of course - isn't it everyone's? Seems so until people give up halfway through January because of the combination of cold weather, being busy and being lazy. Hopefully none of these attribute to my quitting on working out this year and I've got Corey to push me as well. Plus, we just lost all of our snow due to extremely warm temperatures - bummer. I might even be able to start running outside in the middle of January... crazy.
